Notes
This setting is identical to the hymn’s appearance in the 1682 Neu Leipziger Gesangbuch (p.70), though transposed from F to G. The NLGB was an important and widely used hymnal of Bach’s day and is noteworthy for its inclusion of notated music in addition to the hymn texts. (Most hymnals of the time included only texts.)
